Four generations of Romagnolo hospitality
The Onofri family has managed Hotel Modena since the 1950s, when Neo and Agostina set up a small boarding house that survived the war and became the family’s first step on a long path in the field of hospitality.

Renata and Gledis, who now manage the hotel, explain the story:
“Our grandparents were passionate about tourism and after the war, they decided to open a small boarding house with just 6 rooms and a small common bathroom. They couldn’t have chosen better timing, right at the start of the post-war tourism boom. Their entrepreneurial abilities are to thank for their success.
With lots of sacrifices and hard work, they were able to improve and expand over the years, arriving at 35 rooms on multiple floors, each with a private bathroom and air conditioning.
At the end of the 1990s, our parents, Adriana and Eliseo, decided to buy the neighbouring boarding house to offer more rooms and services. We have continued to improve our structure over the years, allowing Hotel Modena to become what it is today: a 3-star hotel for families with every comfort.
Supported by our parents and the young Nicolò, Tila, Therey and even little Christian, representing the new generation, we continue in our grandparents’ footsteps, working passionately to create unforgettable family trips to the sea and to make our guests feel at home.”
